Additional information

Keep in mind:

  • General appointments (eye checks, new glasses, eye infection, measuring eye pressure, checking for glaucoma...) can be made with any of the doctors. The doctors share all the files, so if your 'regular' ophthalmologist is absent, you can certainly make an appointment with one of the other colleagues.
  • It is best to make appointments regarding laser treatment (in order to see without glasses) with Dr. De Blauwe. If you are scheduling an appointment regarding information about laser treatment, you will need to make an appointment for 20 minutes (you need to schedule two consecutive appointment blocks). In order to check whether you can be considered for this treatment, it is best to remove your contact lenses three days before the appointment. The measurements can be done in either case, however the longer the contacts have been out, the more accurate the results.
  • Appointments related to cataracts can be made with either Dr. De Blauwe or Dr. Veys.
  • Appointments related to diabetes or age-related macular degeneration are best made with Dr. Vaninbroukx.
  • For appointments regarding eyelid disorders, it is best to see Dr. Veys or Dr. De Blauwe. They also perform small procedures on the eye (for example, removing small bumps, warts, sores, …)
  • Ordent is a general ophthalmologist specialized in pediatric ophthalmology. We prefer to schedule children's appointments with her.
  • Of course, the doctors will refer you internally to the correct doctor as needed.

If you are unable to make your appointment, please cancel in a timely manner. In this way, you allow us to help someone else who is in need.

Be sure to make two separate appointments if you are coming with two people.

Open consultation

Every Monday we will start the open consultation hour from 1pm. You will then be given an appointment time in order of arrival. As far as possible, we will see all patients who come in. If the number of patients exceeds our capacity, we will look for a solution in the regular short-term consultation or we will ask you to come back at the free consultation time the following week. During the waiting time, we ask you to wait in your car or to go home for a while. You may wait in the place of another person who is not able to queue. No more than two appointments will be granted per person waiting.

Of course, waiting is done in compliance with the rules of social distance, i.e. at least 1.5 metres.

The doctors take turns in open consultation.
