Until recently, the only possible solutions to improve eyesight if you had a refractive error were either glasses or contact lenses. Refractive surgery, including laser eye surgery, should be able to reduce or even remove the need to use glasses or contact lenses. Of course, not all refractive errors and not all patients are eligible for refractive surgery. For starters, the eye needs to be fully developed, which excludes this method for children. At the same time, the eye must also be otherwise healthy.
